TEDx Bournemouth – Part 5: – The TEDx Buzz in the Air
The day of the TEDx talk was spectacular.
There was a real buzz in the air. Imagine the type of buzz you get from 120 people gathered together to share inspiring ideas and become better versions of themselves as a result. A group of people seeking to share, grow, develop and be inspired. The electricity was infectious.
I was 5th to speak. As I listened to speakers 1-4 I knew that I would never forget this day. It was more than a professional development day, it was a deeply moving experience.
Having people share their experiences honestly with the intention of helping others reveals a greater depth of humanity.
It brings us back to our sole purpose on this earth in a powerful way. To help each other. To live and make the world a better place. That is also what TED is. Yes ideas worth spreading, but more than that, it’s about a global community of inspired thinkers connecting from every culture and discipline to seek a deeper understanding of our world. Sharing revolutionary ideas and inspiring others to live out their own passions on an empowering platform to create a greater future for everyone. That is what embodied my experience with TEDx in Bournemouth.
The truth is that’s also why I do what I do, the way I do it, at Tom Bates Coaching. I believe in living a life that encourages others to reach their personal inner potential. My academic qualifications make me trained and professionally qualified, but it’s the purpose and meaning behind my job that fuels the fire.
It’s the same fire that burns in each one of us. At some level, we recognise that helping others reach their goals is also a profoundly life altering personal experience and one that allows us to improve simultaneously.
The video of the talk will be posted soon.
